Hockey Day in Houston 2026 is on Saturday, March 21, and it’s going to be an absolute blast at Saint Arnold Brewery!

We’d love for the women of WHOAH to come out and show some WHOAH spirit! If you have some time to spare, we’d be so grateful for a few extra hands to help make the WHOAH table run smoothly during the event. It’s a great way to meet new people, talk hockey, and represent WHOAH.

We are looking for volunteers:
* Early Birds (Set-up):** 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
* Team Ambassadors (WHOAH Table):** 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (one-hour slots)
* The Victory Lap (Teardown):** 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
* Social Media Content Creator/Photographer

WHOAH and the @houstongirlshockeyassoc know how to throw a party!

We had an incredible turnout at our first Girl’s and Women’s Hockey Day in Houston hosted by Frost Town Brewing! We had a bounce house, food truck, great beer and beverages, a bracelet and keychain making station, and a raffle with awesome prizes thanks to some very generous donors!! The icing on the cake was the US women’s Olympic hockey team bulldozing the Finnish team, keep it up ladies!

Meet the event hosts!

WHOAH (Women's Hockey Outreach Association of Houston).
Founded by women for women in November 2024, WHOAH was created to foster amateur women's hockey in Houston through the development and support of hockey programming including drop-in skates, tournaments, and community outreach. In its fledgling year, WHOAH provided more than 100 women the opportunity to play ice hockey, hosted its own 3-on-3 tournament, entered its team in the women's division of the Oil Kings Memorial Day Shootout, held women-only skills clinic, and is taking 2 women's teams to the USA Hockey Pond Hockey Championship in Eagle River, WI. The best part of WHOAH, though, is the welcoming community of great women who have formed lifelong bonds through the sport of ice hockey.

Founded in 2021, Houston Girls Hockey Association / HTX Storm is the only all-girls ice hockey organization in Houston. Storm offer recreational and competitive programs for girls and young women from 6U thru 19U including Rookies learn-to-play program, House-level teams 8U thru 14U, travel HTX Storm teams (12U Select, 14U Tier 2, 16U Tier 2) competing against top programs across the country.
Every July 4th weekend, Storm hosts a three-day Girls Hockey Celebration Weekend with on- and off-ice activities headlined by our 3v3 Tournament.

Hockey Day In Houston is an annual family friendly event that brings the hockey community together to market and promote the game of hockey. This 100% volunteer led event was attended by 5,000 people in 2025 and has captured local Houston and national media attention, while partnering with organizations such as The Howe Foundation, Hockey Players In Business, The Dallas Stars, Saint Arnold Brewing Company, and others. Within 2 years of existence, Hockey Day In Houston has raised over $100,000 while contributing back over $55,000 to scholarships and hockey organizations.
