Houston Women's Soccer Association
The Houston Women’s Soccer Association (HWSA) is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing women’s sports by providing accessible, competitive, and recreational soccer opportunities for adult players across the Greater Houston area. Founded in 1976, HWSA is one of the longest-running and most established women’s leagues in Texas. In addition to regular league play, HWSA hosts popular annual tournaments like Oktoberfest and Jingle Ball, which draws teams from across Texas to connect, travel, and play the sport they love. Today, the league supports over 40 teams across women’s divisions and coed leagues, welcoming players ages 18 and up from all backgrounds and skill levels.
HWSA’s mission is rooted in community, inclusion, and athletic empowerment. Whether players are returning to the game after time away or joining for the first time, the organization provides a space to grow both on and off the field. Lifelong friendships are formed here, built through shared experiences, teamwork, and a mutual passion for soccer. With a legacy spanning nearly five decades, HWSA continues to play a vital role in growing the visibility and strength of women’s sports in Houston.
